The Shadow Sun is an immersive Western action RPG that has recently made its way to iOS. Developed by veterans of acclaimed RPG franchises such as Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, and The Witcher, this game is a must-play for fans of story-driven RPGs.

The story takes place in a world where an ominous shadow is cast upon the sun. As the shadow grows, the consequences become increasingly horrifying. To uncover the truth and save the city from impending doom, players will embark on a 10-hour adventure in the decadent imperial city of Shar and its surrounding desert lands.

Throughout the game, players will encounter over 70 unique areas and discover more than 200 hidden items, secrets, and ancient treasures. A journal will help keep track of quests, while a detailed codex provides information on new characters, places, and creatures.

An original orchestral soundtrack and immersive soundscape contribute to the dark fantasy atmosphere.

The Shadow Sun offers true role-playing elements, allowing players to create their own customizable character. With over 30 attacks, spells, and skills to choose from, players can tailor their play style to suit their preferences. The game also provides multiple ways to solve quests and unlock new dialogue options based on the player's skills.

Players can team up with one of four companions, each with unique abilities and personalities. The choices made throughout the game will determine whether these companions become friends or foes. Additionally, players can also have a faithful dog companion at their side during battles.

Supporting a variety of devices, The Shadow Sun can be played on iPad models 1-4 and Air, iPad mini models with and without Retina display, iPhone models 3GS-5s, and iPod touch models 3-5.

Note that in-app purchases are completely optional. While there are three starter packs with extra content and quests available for purchase, they are not required to fully enjoy the game. An in-depth hint guide is also offered as an optional purchase and provides a full walkthrough along with gameplay tips and other helpful information.
